Black people want to see movies that they can relate to so what's wrong with Black Hollywood catering to that? I call it business saavy. If we're going to spend the little money (some of us) have on a movie, then we want it to be worthwhile. On another note, no one says a word when pro athletes, politicans, entertainers and actors get rich. Why is it that when a man of God has prosperity, then people find something wrong with it? We all want to make money - how are we going to eat? Besides, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not the money itself or having it for that matter. In reference to the comments I read here, how is it that such a positive movie can garner such negative sentiments?

With the divorce rate being so high and couples (black and otherwise) struggling to make their relationships work, I am so glad to see a movie like this. It could help somebody. And what's so wrong with that? That is Bishop Jakes' calling (helping people).

I can't wait until the movie comes here. The cast as a whole looks wonderful. I purchased the book a few months ago, and I am soo glad T.D. Jakes made it into a film. So many couples leave without trying to work through the pits that befall marriage, and this movie will help and show that we all have to work to make it last. Props to Bill Duke and the whole cast you guys keep us coming with all you bring to film. We need more great family movies that inspire and pull those heart strings.

I now plan to see the movie for myself & will take someone else just because of your comments.Seemed to exhibit more of your contempt for Black People & its Culture than the film.I’ll stop short of saying your contempt for the reflection of your Self.All of the comments especially about Taraji Henson were just Mean-Spirited not Holy-Spirited,childish,uncalled for & inappropriate.Seemed to do more to illuminate a very personal(TMI),internal conflict,and insecurity about a personal walk with God than with the picture.If Black Culture is beneath you,do something to change the Culture or just Opt-Out.Wonder if you’ll be missed.It’s a movie.Some people see movies just to see a movie.Let your motives be your own,but keep in mind they hated Jesus too.A tree is known by the fruit it bears.What kind of fruit are you?If you're going to make a point stay on it.

I would love to see this new movie, but when you are affected by this economic crisis, it is best to hold every dollar you can in your pocket.........people are out to make money and put on a show for you to watch, I love good entertainment,but times are too hard to put money in someone else's pocket.......

I have recently renewed my walk with Christ and am an entrepreneur. Is there truth in biblical economics? I have enjoyed listing to Creflo and TD Jakees preach and speak. Why can't minisiters make a high income are be wealthy when it is done throught the God's kingdom? Are they not also business men and have familys and home to take care of?

I think that it is great, another film by Bishop Jakes. Kyoto stated that he's just another out to make money, true, but dosen't everyone do something to make money? We all want to make more money, but at least he [Jakes] isn't fleecing the flock to make his own way. Outside of The Potter's House, Jakes is handling his business, so that he can provide for his family, and the church doesn't come close to paying for their lifestyle. Once again, I think that it is great and the cast is wonderful. We have long needed black writers and producers to come to the forefront and show us that we can have it all.
