Straight Talk: Why Hairlicious Inc. Doesn’t Use Keratin Treatments

Searching for an alternative way to achieve silky straight hair? Keratin straightening treatments have become the “go-to” option at salons for the past few years. Women typically flock to keratin treatments as they provide a pin straight look, frizz becomes a thing of the past, and as a bonus it shortens blow-dry time by 40-60 percent.

Treatments can be done every 6 to 8 weeks. The main ingredient in the treatment is keratin, which is naturally found in our hair strands. The keratin protein, in the treatment, acts to naturally straighten as well as strengthen the hair. Although, there are benefits to keratin treatments, I chose not to use them in my hair for three reasons.
