.......Hollywood, TV zines all play the sick choice of color game - have done so from the beginning and will continue to do so simply because they have the power and feel the majority of consumers consciously or subconsciously accept the 'light bright damn near white' - bi-racial - mix breed etc. male or female as the most beautiful - a few cream in the coffee types fit the matrix! I remember when you only saw very dark complexioned Negro Black Americans in movies or on TV. White America and the industry was not then ready to show very light skinned or 'half-caste' actors as this spoke directly to the issue of 'race mixing' - 'plantation rape' etc.- They were not prepared to face the reality of history. Remember 'Imitation of Life' - the movie?

The historical reasons why there are so many beautiful, very dark skinned. very light skinned Sons and Daughters of Africa and descendants of slaves throughout the world can only be understood by truly looking at and overstanding History and Ourstory. The color game - choice of colors - played by societies and individuals through out the world reflects and is directly rated to the history of oppression and psychological warfare carried out by oppressors and ignorant individuals and groups who get played into the divide and conquer game; or who buy into and believe and practice the old saying - if you're Black get back, if you're brown stick around, if you're yellow you're mellow and if you're white you're alright.

I agree. It's sad that you have one or 2 very jealous, hard hearted people acting so nasty towards our sista's Vanessa, Beyonce or any other sista. Their skin color is a non issue. My advice is to pray for your issues. And love everyone. Ladies, please do like I and flag those nasty posts that focus on color. This is the ONLY Black, female site that we have that I can think ofm and we need to protect it.

Vanessa is just as pretty as she was 20 years ago! She is one of the most beautiful Black women to me. And what a hard worker. She is to an overcomer! Much love to Vanessa!!!

No disrespect to T..D. Jakes. But is Susan Taylor not doing "In the Spirit", any more. that Article got me through some of most traumatic times of my life. Some 32 years later I still need that inspiration and positive boost. May it be well with you all!
