The Right Way to Wear Lace Front Wigs

Last month, actress Countess Vaughn experienced a lace front wig nightmare when she developed a terrible scalp infection from her extensions. “The red flag was the oozing from my ears, my forehead, the whole nape around my head; and it had a horrible smell, it was painful,” Vaughn shared on The Doctors show.

Lace fronts are still pretty popular, and most of us aren’t quite ready to give them up, so we had to get the scoop on the proper way to wear them to avoid this nightmare at all costs. We asked dermatologic surgeon Dr. Meena Singh and hair expert Nadia Vassell to offer tips on the safest way to wear extensions.
