Power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z
Beyoncé and Jay-Z wed in a private ceremony on April 4 in New York.
“I never talked about relationships,” Beyoncé told ESSENCE in October 2005. “I only talk about them in my songwriting; otherwise things get too messy. It has worked out because now nobody expects me to talk about them. But it’s hard too,” she admitted. “You fall in love and you want to tell everybody. But that’s a place I just don’t go.”

Privacy has its place, however when you choose to place your picture on the cover of a national magazine....the content of your story should reflect who you are. Essence is a great magazine, its readers should get to know you?. I don't want to know how much you paid in taxes or your address!. To be placed on the cover of Essence magazine is a coveted honor, not just anybody should be chosen. In fact, i would've preferred to see Derrick and Malinda(newlyweds, pge 26) on the November cover. Their wedding story captures the true "essence" of what readers would like to see. It is time for less known noteworthy folks to have their "15 minutes of fame" on your cover. The Obama cover, was outstanding, he and Michelle + kids were a breath of fresh air (thanks), they were candid, and gave us a glimpse into their lives. Then to follow-up with Beyonce, she is very talented however, her interview lacked substance!. if a person doesn't want to "share" why should they grace the cover.
