I agree with the postings about the difference between baby mama's and wives. Too many people are putting the cart before the horse and having the baby before marriage. This is not what I want young people growing up to think is ok. If a woman is good enough for a man to sleep with and make a baby with then she is good enough to marry. I understand about mistakes but I think it is a tad bit ridiculous to see so many fiancees and girlfriends when the relationship mimics a husband and wife.. just make it official. In response to the color issue. I could care less. Those individuals have to live together an be together and I hope the marriage is based on more than skin color and looks because looks fade.

La Laker Fan: Had you read some of my other posts, you would see I get the wife vs. baby mama, fiance', girlfriend etc. Finally, the Laura Bush example was to illustrate my point, that this being a black woman's magazine it is obvious why Michelle Obama would be on the cover and not Laura Bush when she was first lady, it had nothing to do with husbands in the NBA. Either keep up or don't write on web posts.

La Laker Fan & Bewildered: Are you really that clueless? If this was a mainstreamed publication like Cosmpolitian or Instyle than of course list any NBA player's woman regardless of ethnicity, but this is not a mainstream publication, this is Essence magazine...a magazine that was founded in 1970 to focus on the lives of Black women. So therefore any article in Essence will be related to black women. It does not matter if non-black women read Essence, that does not take away from the fact that this is a black woman's magazine. So that is why you don't see Kobe Bryant's non-black wife listed.
