Children don't care about a little things like getting a hi five with a glove on. The child appears perfectly happy sharing that moment with the first lady. Grown ups should learn not to take small things like this so literal. We would be missing the whole point. Which is she is spending time and giving that child a wonderful experience and a memory that she will carry with her for life. Let's not make a negative from something positive.

Why come the Obamas don't go to a black church???? The need to REPRESENT us! They keep acting white and going to their churches and eating their food.

Doris, how does YOUR arms look??? Flab and out of shape, I'm quite sure. Focus on your own ill-built body and maybe you too, can look like Mrs. Obama!!

What's so undignified about the first lady's bare arms. There should only be a problem if the arms are jiggling and without muscle tone. Stop hating our beautiful, youthful first lady. why can't the first children wear their hair the way the President and first lady approve? They always look beautiful and appropriate coiffed. Stop the hating and start congratulating. Where's the love people? We as Black women need to support each other instead of tearing each other down. If we can't say something positive and progressive we shouldn't say anything at all!

Mrs. O is a beautiful woman and her essence motivates me to be better, especially physically. She a wife, mom, and First Lady, amongst everything else she does. I don't have nearly as many responsibilities as she does, so surely I can get it/keep it together. Kudos Mrs. O! By the way, please do not utilize this space to acknowledge nonsense.

Essence should disable any comments concerning a person's physical appearance because it's obvious the self-haters wil pick and find any little small detail on a person to make a negative comment about. If they can't find anything they will make up something. The woman is intelligent and beautiful and is obviously teaching her daughters well in not allowing them to ruin their hair by pressing and perming it at an early age. Every Black woman does not want to look like a plucked chicken who needs to put a weave on her head.
