Chi-town buddies Oprah Winfrey and the First Lady had a chance to catch up in NYC on the evening of May 5 at Time’s 100 Most Influential gala. I was there and trust me, all eyes were on their table! Both honorees were dressed in sophisticated dark (Mrs. Obama in Michael Kors) gowns with statement-making necklaces and both had their hair pulled back. Great minds think alike? Oprah and the First Lady made a point to recognize and commend great teachers during their remarks.
Mrs. Obama, who had to ask guests to sit and cease their standing ovation so she could begin her speech, noted, “Our success was made possible with the encouragement of a diligent parent or teacher, a grandparent who told us we had real talent."
