Mrs. Obama had a busy Cinco de Mayo in the Big Apple! First, she spoke at the United Nations where U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice revealed to her, "We love your style, your warmth, your brilliance.”
Then she headed over to Lincoln Center where she delivered special remarks as one of the honorees at TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World gala. Mrs. Obama, who was seated at a table with Oprah and BFF Gayle King, kicked the evening off by saluting those ordinary people across the country who dedicate their lives to community service. Tears began to form in her eyes when she spoke about her own influences.
“I stand here today because of people who loved me, and pushed me and believed in me."
