The First Lady spoke this morning (May 7) at the annual meeting of Corporate Voices for Working Families. (She even arrived a little early.) At D.C.’s Mayflower Hotel, Mrs. Obama discussed on-site child care, flexible work hours and paid leave among the issues that need to be addressed for working families. She told the story of growing up the daughter of a city sanitation worker and stay-at-home mom and her efforts to balance work and family responsibilities.
“These types of policies can be the key to whether a family remains economically viable or slips into financial uncertainty,” advised Mrs. Obama who wore a floral-patterned blouse with a wide brown studded belt and black pants.
