Michael Jackson Fans React to His Death
The King of Pop
Celebrated by people both young and mature from all over the world, Michael Jackson wasn’t just an musician, he was an American icon. ESSENCE.com took the street just hours after his passing to get reaction from some of his biggest fans as they react to his death, share their favorite Michael Jackson moment and reflect on the man who will forever be known as The King of Pop.

My most memorable moment of Michael Jackson is watching him and his brothers of the group the Jackson Five make their debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan back 1967. I was 12 years old. I thought what a talented and cute little boy. Back then racial discord was still among our nation, but the Jackson Five made a statement with their music and talent. In remembrance of Michael I will always love his music and appreciate his humanitarism, because he gave so much to all of us. May you rest in peace Michael. You will be truly missed. To the Jackson Family may God be with you during you time of bereavement.

I remember the first time I saw the Jackson Five singing on the Ed Sullivan show. I told my parents that I had to have the fringe vest that Michael wore. I was very sadden to hear that Michael had past. Here was guy that never had a childhood and had to live out his life through his music. I will never forget the day I saw him at Texas Stadium in Dallas along with his brothers. One word...WOW! Rest in peace Michael. And for the fans and his family know this...Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. May God Bless the Jackson family.

Michael Jackson was my first crush. I would sleep with his picture on my wall every night so when I wake I would see his face.(circa 1983) I never believed any of the rumors and accusations put upon throughout the years. People are were just so cruel and he will always remain alive to in my eyes. Love you Michael always and forever.

May the family of the of the late great Michael Jackson find peace in knowing that there child, brother and father is resting in peace. I love Michael when his album drop (Off the Wall), he was such a humble person, but if you looked in those eyes you saw someone whom had wisdom far beyound his years. Micheal had some ups and downs during his short life, but we can all appreicate and love what he has left behind, love for music that will always give us "Butterflies" from the CD invenciable...claiming to be his worst CD, but I love the music that was on this able... Peace, Love and Repsect for the KING of POP..

Yesterday evening a saw an article on Bossip saying RIP Michael Jackson and I thought his death was a lie. It is still hard to believe that Michael Jackson is gone because he is gone too soon. Despite the legal issues that he faced throughout his life, I will always remember Michael for the great music his made. I feel for his family, especially his children because now 3 underage children are without a father.R.I.P. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop.

After watching the media talk about him. It showed me how far we haven't come. It only breazed through all the good stuff and focused mainly on the negative. In my heart I remember the 2nd time Michael came to the bay area to the circle star, in san carlos, ca the summer of 74. And I got to go.. I was 7 1/2 years old and never knew I could scream so loud. Just like everyone else in there I knew when I grew up. I wanted him to marry me. I know I bragged on that at show n tell the 1st day. Which didn't mean a lot to my classmates. When I got older and I saw the brothers for the victory tour I still have my ticket. Words can not express my sorrow. My prayers go out to his family. I only wish I still had all the pictures of hm and his brothers hung on my walls. But he will live on in my heart. This is he 1st celebrity that I would drive to LA to attend a fneral. God Bless.

Every little girl had a brother she loved growing up for me, it was Randy and later Michael. I never believed those allegations about Michael. He was exploited and used from Childhood and was too trusting of people. I will always love you Michael and now at least you can be at Peace.
