Out of the zillions of hair and beauty trend launched during New York Fashion Week, but asymmetric, side-swept styles definitely stole the show. The texture, length and specific constructions may have varied, but the coolest 'dos had one thing in common--the hair was parted deeply off-center and swept over to one side. "Simply put, asymmetric styles flatter everyone," says celeb stylist Juan Carlos of NYC's Rita Hazan salon. "Restricted, tight styles can call attention to features you might want to hide, but when you have hair to one side, it's like an optical illusion, distracting the eye. Also, it's just a really easy, chic, fashion-y look!"

Tresemme hairstylist Jeanie Syfu created the wild, side-swept strands at Tracy Reese. After parting the models’ hair on one side, she wound small sections around a 1" curling iron, and then finger-styled. Leaving the front half of the hair loose, she gathered the back into a low pony, draping it over one shoulder.
