Get the scoop on five hair myths that may be preventing your hair from growing »

Why are we complaining about hair, we need to be grateful we even have hair! There are some many serious issues in the world we can deeply consider. I personally have worn my hair permed for a very short time, it is now natural (braided, weaves). I believe healthy hair is good hair in all of its varieties. However a person chooses to wear their hair that is their decision, and should not feel pressured to fit your norm, as long as they like it!

I hate the phrase "good hair!" What is wrong with the hair you were born with? It is you, no matter the texture. Just because your hair is straight doesn't make it prettier, just different. PS going natural doesn't mess up your hair thats why its called natural, as in what you were born with. What will mess up your hair is not realizing you have to care for natural hair differently than relaxed. You can still trim your ends!

I know ya'll r gonna hate me for sayin this but I understand the point Trice was trying to make. I am 100% African(lol) and am currently trying the natural hair look and I tell you it is ruining my hair. And yes I am African and have good hair..there I had to disagree with Trice because your statement was very ignorant. The Africa they show on tv does not completly depict the whole of Afica. The Africa I know is very exotic and beautiful.

@Trice Wow, your comment is straight up ignorant. All the usage of the term "good hair" is exactly what is wrong with black america. To say that not everyone wants to look crazy and like they are from Africa was hurtful. Natural sistah's don't go around accusing people with relaxed hair of looking eurocentric. It's a personal choice. I'm glad to see that you had to put in their that your a quarter while. CONGRATS!! This fact automatically makes you prettier and better than everyone else right? GTFOH!!

either some women are really blind, or dont know the difference between natural and fake hair, but just cuz a women hair is not nappy looking, which every black woman does not approve of that look, most of the models had there real hair, to me, thats as natural as it gets, not everybody wanna look they from africa, some people got really good hair, why ruin it by making it crazy, looking, since i tried the "natural look" i messed up my hair, no perming or cutting my edges, I almost messed up my real hair, im mixed with white25% and black so i forget that time to time, tryn to follow the trend

Maybe people with natural styles should find a site that appreciates them.

Most of these styles cannot be worn in a corporate environment. Too flashy. In addition their are a significant number of women who are not relaxing their hair anymore. It would be nice if you kept up with this trend and included a few natural styles in your future articles. Thanks.

Please, please, please ....can we also have natural hairstyles featured along with the weaves too?..not all sisters have weaves and flowing locks. We also have afros,, twists, locks and Sisterlocks. We look to black magazines to get ideas and inspiration, please dont go down the path of white hairstyles in the main.
