i agree with C so much on all her comments about the female artist that she feels should get more promotion. i am soooo sick of seeing beyonce 1/2 dressed. let the real singers shine

The essence festival has changed sooooo much over the years. In my opinion, it has become worse instead of better. Some of the acts this year, many of them icons were better suited for the superlounges instead of the main stages. How did Tina Marie make the main stage and not Eric Benet. I was very dissapointed that I was unable to see Eric because the FIRE MARSHAL was not letting any more people into the lounge where he was performing. Also, I will not begin to explain how COLD the part of the superdome we were sitting in was and how now, my friend and I both came home with cold like symptoms. You can tell there are different promoters incharge. Still good, but has been much better.

Yes Beyonce' and Jay Z have it to gethre for now. People seem to forget where they come from or that they could possibly end up nin the same, similar or worse situation. they both have big heads and it's a matter of time before it crumbles. BET should not havallowed them to ruin the tribute by not allowing Chris Brown to perform. Hell IKE beat Tina and he alsways performed. That was personal issue and the medis has just blown it up. Theese are ordinary people who just got a head start in life and have talent. B and J have to understand the WORLD IS NOT THIERS REGARDLESS OF THE MONEY, FAME, OR BODY STRUCTURES.

I am so sick of people down grading Beyonce'. Truth is....she is performer! She is the total package....sing, dance and as well as both at the same time. True, there are better vocalist than Beyonce' but once again....Beyonce has the total package. Many of the performs that do have the vocals and can exceed Beyonce don't because they can go past her stage performance. People always say....so what if she sings live and sounds just like her CD's...so what if she dances rountines to whole sings while belting out the lyrics...anyone can do that. If that is the case....why doesn't anyone challenge what she can do? As of right now...the hottest female artists out are Bey, Ciara and Riahnna.. Beyonce has the total package, CIara has the dance aspect and Rihanna has the exotic feel to her music due to her voice. People are not drawn to singing like they were were 20 years ago such as Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Kelly Price, etc...you MUST have stage performance and Beyonce has all!!

Beyonce has played out! There's nothing left for her to expose but her....-- Watching her one doesn't know if she's doing a strip tease or singing--Professional singers...don't need to be half naked to get anyone to notice them--their voices are their instruments; I think its disgraceful how she dresses when she performs; since when has underwear substituted for talent? And she was awful on the BET awards show dressed like bridezilla--she somehow made it all about HER--I used to like and admire her, but she's just become sleazy to me and to most people out here who have 'matured' and who no longer think--or ever thought that a black woman has to sing darn near naked to get ratings/approvals/and what message does she send to young females; I will be gklad when she grows up and realizes that she has talent and a voice and does not need to go the sleaze route to get noticed -- one would think her parents would have told her this by now...

this was my first festival and i really enjoyed the concerts. wished i could've seen the full Maxwell show but since he didn't come out til waaaayyy after 2am, i only saw him sing a couple songs and then left. All the other singers did an awesome job! truly loved Anita Baker & Charlie Wilson. Robin Thicke ended his show with some definite cool points with the Young Money Millionaire's tribute...LOL! I'll be back next year for sure.

Beyonce rocked it yet again! Charlie Wilson was hot too. Maxwell? Well if you stayed til 1 a.m! He was good, but by the time he got on stage we were exhausted.
