OMG to see all of the Black people come together...our leaders, our musicians, our comedians, our actresses, our actors...Essence you've really created a cultural commodity here for the Black community. Its a beautiful thing!

This was my first Essence experience and I truly enjoyed myself. I was disappointed in Maxwell, I left after he sang Fortunate, other than him being L-A-T-E, it was C-O-L-D, like the thermostat was on negative digits. I can't say enough about Charlie Wilson, he's very impressive although Anita Baker talked a little too much, she was good. During their performances the temperature was comfortable. I wanted to go to the after party, but leaving at 2 a.m. - it was out of the question, we were exhausted. I will attend again, but this time I will bring a blanket!!!

Awesome time again this year, Maze was awesome again, I never tire of seeing 30,000 plus people dancing in the isle when they take the stage. Big up to Lionel Ritchie also, the Commodores mini reunion was awasome.

THE ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS GREAT!!!! YEAH THERE WERE SOME GLITCHES BUT THAT'S LIFE. THE PERFORMANCES WERE OUTSTANDING, TOP-NOTCH. I CAN'T IMAGINE HOSTING AN EVENT OF THIS MAGNITUDE AND HAVING IT AS SUCCESSFUL AS IT WAS. Great Job Ladies of Essence and Staff. Keeping on doing whatcha know.

i enjoyed it somewhat it was hard to choose between cainstage or superlonges but i enjoyed everything and i am still resting from this event two weeks later..lol

This was my tenth Essence Music Fest. While I realize things will never be the same I still had a good time. I do, however, have some complaints. The design of the tee-shirts was so disappointing. . This is my FIRST time never to buy one. There was no one with clear directions when we had questions. In the past I have bought CDs from the seminars, couldn't find where to buy them this time. Loved shopping from the vendors, sorely missed Susan Taylor.
