About "Race". Being "white" I was raised "white" but with the parentailly given understanding and the demand that all creeds and colours are equal. I married a "Haitienne" on the first marriage, and then twenty-seven years later did it all over again with another. Its' about attitudes, culture, style, savoir-faire, language, and much much more. Some folks of coloured cultures don't want "whites" to enter their coloured families, and vica-versa however they do have the greatest of respect for all. Genetic division is acceptable to a point of advice only, and in my mind, should not become an issue. In the U.S. I must remark that Race is "promoted and commercialized" meaning that it is not just accepted. Perhaps with such a terrible history this is a normal result. In three to four more generations, perhaps we'll all be just "brown". What a relief! Thank you.

I Just wonder if this was a high profile white magazine would this article constantly pop up in every other month issue. I'm sure they would be more creative and this would be something of very little concerns!!! Oh! that right! White people don't throw their culture under the bus!!! They just wipe out others!!!!!

its not just black men that date outside to get that ideal child or look etc. halle berry was dating michael -her costar in their eyes were watching god - and kicked him to the curb when she meet her current man. she did not conceive her child naturally so it just makes sense that she did not want a black baby. my opinion. i could be wrong.

to those who can think "outside the box" more power to you. to those who don't want nappy headed kids or kids that are too dark more power to you as well! to the white boys banging sisters (not sistahs) get down with ya bad self. to those who are like minded - wtf? why do we continue to discuss this bs? no other major publication has bothered to broach the subject. the black community has more pressing issues that definately should take precident over this. its been and will continue to happen. i have to admit its sad that we as a people can not see how beautiful we are. they can - tanning is a multibillion dollar industry. the number of lip and butt implants have doubled in the last year. funny isnt it!!

When it comes to black men what upsets me is their seemingly lack of pride, respect and preference for their own women. I am from Seattle and I have many friends of different races and brothas practically used to knock me down to get to them. I have introduced these friends (unwillingly) to their black husbands while me and so many of my black women friends are still single. It seems that black women are viewed as not to be married, taken care of, loved, respected, cherished. I am tired of black celebrity men announcing to the world that they do not like black women, that we are too dark, hair too nappy or not lady like. We are the only race that would denounce their women on a world platform like that. "Other" women actually think they have preference over black women when it comes to our men. And I actually can't blame them for thinking that because that's how black men treat them.

I am a black woman and have been married to a white man for over a year and have been in LOVE since the day we met. Now I have nothing against black men, but for me personally it didn't work. I would never speak for all black men, but for only the ones I had the misfortune to meet or marry in the last 45yrs. I came to a point in my life 3yrs. ago when I had to learn to focus only on me and the final conclusion that I came to was to, "Live my life outside the box". We have never had a disagreement on anything, not even an argument, the reason for this is open communication always. In ending, I now know what true and unconditional LOVE is.

I only like black and spanish men, so I would only date outside my race is the guy was spanish. But my first love, preference and desire is to be with a black man and fortunate enough for me, I have the most hansome, sexy, passionate black man in my life.

America is still tooo race conscious, 200+ years and we are still looking at the color of skin, hair (good/bad). Need to stop thinking about what other people think. The judge should check and see what his ancestor roots consist of.

Please let set the record straight God created all races which makes up the human race: Blacks, Whites, Chinese, Hispanic etc. People please remember what the human races definition means and that constitutes all races! We are so quick to say I see just one race and that the Human race. You see God's creation and that's a culture of races!! To those who choose to date outside the box do you and enjoy!! But for other that would want to carry on that Black culture that God has created stay strong and keep praying because all our Black men don't have bad credit or are in jail! It has been an element of evil that has been set out to destroy this race of people that the Bible says we are blessed! Essence like another person stated earlier, you have lost your creativness! Oh! and please continue on doing a great job in exposing strong black leadership in the african american community!
