there's alot of hatred on this message board! Don't feed into others ignorance! We have come so far in educating ourselves the movement is powerful. I don't care what others may say or even think about be for my desires of the heart which happen to be a black man all brother's aren't in jail or drug addict or on the DL still have love for their sista's. I refuse to allow such garbage be deposit into my vessell! I tell this to my daughters as well. We have some educated brothers out here don't count them out yet!!!!

I'm happy these ladies found love. All relationships have drama so let's not think inter-racial dating will give you a drama free life. I prefer dating black men just because I find them more attractive and comfortable to be around. I've never dated a "thug or drug dealer w/3 baby mamas" (I didn't know these terms were synomous references to black men). Most men I've date (who were black like myself) were similar to me respectful, educated, employed, spiritual, and open minded. I'm single currently and have tried dating a white man recently but I found he was only interested in having sex with a "black woman" and had racist views. So sista's please be careful when dating. White men are not better, Don't let your gaurd down for anyone.

I forgot to mention that my husband and I met when I was 18 married when I was 20 and began our family when I was 21 and we have been married for 30 years. We had to continue to support and nurture each other but most importantly things did'nt begin to come together in our relationship until we both let go and let God. He has to be first then everything else finds it's way. will there still be trials ,oh yes but they get easier because you have the strength of the Lord on your side. Seek out the Lord for your mate and He will decide who to send. It's up to you to be open to who He sends. Bless Ya'll

I'm glad I married a strong spiritual employed mans man who just happens to be black. I have 4 grown daughters and I would love for them to meet nice men like their father no matter what color the package is.

Posted at 7:17PM on November 2nd 2008 by Torey, I think your confused sweetie. Since you've never dated an African Americian woman you have no vaild argument. Your bitterness has no just cause. It's seem to me, that your rely on racial sterotypes of black women as your jusitification to date outside your race. When I go to clubs, (which is rare) I see more white women with "thugs" then black women. Black women are educated, strong, sexy, and beautiful. You probably just can't handle a strong black woman. "No woman should have to break her neck to hold on to you" you speak as if your a woman savior, PLEASE, if they have to try that hard to keep you, u must be trying to run away....

Why are so people so angry about seeing black women happy? I know it's hard to believe, but Black women deserve happiness too. And why can't black men and women have a conversation without tearing each other down? I'm happy to see black men with other race women ...l'm also glad to see black women dating interracially. There are quality men of all colors, but I choose to date outside of my race, because I'm young, beautiful, healthy, educated, childless and not waiting around for some 'black prince' to come sweep me off my feet. In the end we're all just people....seriously.

One more comment>>> I see good sisters all the time with thugs or no good, unemployed, 3 kids by three different women brothers and they would never pay me the time of day... why? Because I'm not out in the clubs, I have a REAL job and don't consider "hustling" to be a career, I read books, watch CNN and wear my pants above my a**.. most black women tend to make bad decisions when it comes to dating black men, they always choose men beneath them and men who didn't even want anything out of life. Those same sisters, once they got used by those brothers, have a kid or two by them, and decide she wants better for her life, now want to be with me (I see it happen DAILY) and I look at them like they are retarded. I'm 31, only dated 2 black women in my life, none of which were American black women by the way, and both of those sisters chased after me. They went on one date with me and then broke their necks to hold on to me.

@Ms. Cali... PTSD goes for both black men and black women. I can and have written entire articles and did lectures based on why so many black men are messed up. I have spent time mentoring, teaching and educating many black men who have already messed up and tried to get them on the right track. My thing is, I know many brothers I went to graduate school with who are looking for good sisters, yet they get passed up way too much by sisters looking for the flashy brother or the brother who seems ultra masculine when in reality they're just scared little boys. Our race as a whole is hugely messed up and at times both black men and women disgust me, largely due to PTSD. I have hope in us, but I know that if we don't fix ourselves no one else can and we will only take our confusion, depression and disease into other relationships with other races.
