i visit this site almost daily to see what these white is right loving people are posting. i totally agree with those who think this is a non issue and also wonder why we as AA keep discussing this issue. right on to the sister that said good sex is physical but great sex is emotional. i personally do not do and have never been attracted to white boys - more power to those women and men that find true love outside the AA community. too bad most of you feel the need to denigrate your own to justify your choice. white people on the other hand , do not write about these issues and do not feel the need to explain their position after all - if you date white it has to be right and a step up.

you are right wtf2 - this issue is so much more important that our young people killing and being killed in the streets. so much more important than the high drop out rate amoung AA children. more important that the fact that over 50% of the new aids case are black women and the teenage pregnancy rate in our community... well. so all u good god fearing black people continue to post your blogs. but the fact of the matter is anything can distract from the real issues. and yes god created everyone; but the white community decided your worth - oh yeah they decided we were more that 3/5th but still inferior.

This judge is the reason why southern "white" men are stereotyped. I live in the south and was married to a black female, we have two wonderful children, and we never had problems. I have no issues with others or even my children dating outside of there own race. God nor love knows no color. Love all worship one ..

As a Christian I believe we should all aspire to be Christ-like, and Jesus Christ taught LOVE. He did not differenciate between nationalities. He was not concerned with skin shade, eye or hair color. He looked beyond a person's 'packaging' to their heart, their character. It would be beautiful if we all made our relationship choices - and other choices as well - based on a person's character instead of seperating ourselves by race. It is possible to accept who we are (culturally, racially, even according to age) and love outside those boxes of our own making. Like most things, it simply requires a decision.

continue.... I do know what century we are living in I just hope you are not that individual that's under the bus!!! IMO we have bigger issues out here to fight and this topic just does not seem to be of that important!! Let's move on!!!

@WTF2, I beg the differ, there is a big issue with this IR in the white community it's just being down played. Let's really understand what we are talking about here!! I hear it everyday they just don't put it in the mainstream publications like the black magazines does. As for genocide that idividual has a valid point! If a child father is black and the mother is white and that child grows up and marry a white man/women then his black father's race has just been erased!!! But then you take your chances because some mixed kids will marry black. I'm on the bus but it does not mean that I have to ride according to everyone else. I really don't know where you get your figures from because the white race is not the minority they are the majority!! Let's set the record straight I'm not pissed off with this issue I'm just sick of Essence lack of creativness in there article writing skills.

Let me set the record straight for Essence and its readers. This story indeed happened in Louisiana but not in New Orleans. It happened in Hammond, Louisiana. The reason why this is of importance to me is because New Orleans is still trying to recover from Hurricaine Katrina and as a native New Orleanian, my city and its people can not afford the luxury of having negativity pointed in their direction. PLEASE MAKE THE CORRECTION.

I truly feel sorry for the people who can't look past the political concept of "race" and accept that there are people who don't care that their mate is from a different culture. The people talking about genocide are pathetic. And when I say that it is not with malice. I hope you have the opportunity to travel and meet people of other cultures. Or if you live in an area where the bigotry is so crushing that you have to live with an "us" vs "them" mentality - try moving. We are born alone and we die alone. If you manage to find happiness with someone hold on to it and ignore the people who are mired in hate. The people who are against mixed marriages are the flip side of Rush Limbaugh - so damaged by the hatred directed at them that they have begun to act like the only good people are black and in doing so have become what they rightly protest against.
