Color of Love: Celebs in Interracial Relationships

I use to feel the same way a lot of you do. Men are men period! I want someone who will love, adore and respect me. A Genuine Godly Gentleman and it doesn't matter what color he is but my natural preference is a Black man. It's more important to me that he respects me and has my best interest at heart NOT the color of his skin. So often we as black people say we don't want other people to judge us by the color of our skin but that's exactly what some of us are guilty of. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best as far as being juded by the content of our CHARACTER not the color of our skin (paraphrase).

YourName you can still marry outside your race and carry a torch for the black community at the same time. if you happen to fall in love and marry someone who is not the same race as you, you can still have Black Pride and be proud of your race. As a educated black women with a Masters Degree, I am approaching my 30's and I intend to marry whoever I fall in love with and whoever happens to be my soulmate wether he be black, white or whatever. As long as he is a good man, I don't care what color he is. I haven't dated outside my race before but now that I'm older, if the opportunity presents itself I will certainly go for it. No reason not to.

Alina, we all need to pick up the torch and do something about it please, please just don't single out one individual on this message board because if you can read there's alot of comments on this board, alot of individuals are lashing out! Why are we still on this subject. As for the statement that was said that if you look into America History there's a little white blood mixed in with Black blood. An beautiful, highly educated, professional, brown skinned sista just so happens to be our First Lady. It goes to show you that good men chose great women! Keep your head up cause your Black Prince may be watching. I believe that there are enough good black men for all of us sista's. Pres. Obama will inspire our brotha's to aim higher, cause Black is Back!
