I agree that there does seem to be a certain obssesion with the way black womens wear thier hair. But white wemon perm their hair to get it curly, get fake tans and plump their lips with fake fillers ; in other words, wanna look like us. I think that every black woman is beautifull, and should be able to wear thier hair however they like. I wear my hair natural, and if somebody dosn't like it, they dont have to look (:

Something is terribly wrong with black women's obsession with white or european features. Now it is not unusual to find black people wearing blonde hair, blue contacts and calling each other the n..word. In other words, blacks taking on the appearance of whites and using their terms to address other blacks. This is the KKK's dream come true. Moreover it's weird that we are horing a black artist that changed his black features for white features. And then he adopts white children to pass them off as his own. Black children's self esteem is being destroyed by popular culture. The financial investment is also like a madness. Wake up!!!!

Watching an aluminium can dipped in lye disintegrate confirmed what I believed about "creamy crack" all along. It is poison - clear and simple. Wake up people

This is so ridiculous. Why are we getting behind airing dirty laundry that most of us don't even care about anymore. It's tring to make it look like we are still focusing on this type of thing - don't they know there is a recession going on outside? Gosh black people have soooo many other things we are dealing with - WHY do some wish to pull us back by pretending that this is something important. Chris is trying to make a buck - fine get your money - but please let's not make this bigger than it is.

it is very possible that this is all oprah's hair. don't we realize that our hair has different textures throughout. i have a friend who had long hair like that as well. she wasn't mixed with indian (as we like to say) and she had long gorgeous hair. what we have to realize is when we perm our hair and then go back to natural hair or press and curl our hair we create different textures. so every strand on your head is not the same texture (especially if you've done a lot of stuff to it over the years). people used to comment on my friends hair and even ask her where she got her weave. no weave honey it is all mine. many of us can grow our hair if we really do right by it. i am just as chocolate as they come and i've had hair well past my shoulders. it's not impossible.

I'm very happy for Chris and his movie. However we all know what good hair is. It curls. It shines with oil. Its easier to style. Bad hair is hard. Its kinky not curly. It looks uniform and does not wave. No one likes nappy hair. Dam get over it.
