Opposition to IR relationships is fear-based in one of two ways. 1) Fear that IRs will somehow threaten themselves or their own race. People using this excuse speak of preserving their culture and saving it from extinction, which is BS because all culture evolves, is not static, and there are plenty of others left to perpetuate the so-called "pure" races. People need to accept this. 2) Fear of rejection. For example, a white male sees a black male in public with a white female, personalizes it and feels rejected by the white female. Or a black man gets upset at seeing a black woman with a white man. Then the hurt turns to anger. This happens across racial and gender lines - when a people get upset like this, it reflects their insecurity (i.e., propensity for fear) and their poor self image. In short weak and stupid people oppose IRs. Once you are secure with yourself, you don't let what other people do bother you.
