I know a very good way to solve the economy's problem. Start issuing reparation checks. The car makers problem solved, bank problem solved, retail market problem solved.

I am happy and grateful to have witnessed such a moment in history. I don't think nor do I expect him to change things overnight, but I do think that this will change the mindset of some people. I see MY people as great and powerful people. How many other groups of people can recreate themselves and produce such greatness from the atrocities that their ancestor's endured. The pain that our people suffered will never be forgotten nor taken in vain. I am a natural hair care stylist is Baltimore that specialized in Children's Natural Hair Care needs and I would love to braid her daughter's hair. I noticed in picture #1 that the oldest daughter had her hair in cornrows.

The offices of government were derived from the need of the people. This election has, in my life time, supported the process of: for the people, by the people. We, the people, have the priviledge of President-elect Obama being an articulate, and educated, and spiritually guided man with the experience of living his life settings goals. Thus, achieving the ultimate goal of being the choice of the people. Not to mention his African American heritage. Moreover, with this in mind, people should look upon this as an opportunity of of a lifetime, for all, to strive for the greatness within to give him the support from the people that he will need to make a difference in lives of people. Self-disciple and self-determination and self-confidence are characteristics that President-elect Obama has displayed during the course of his campaign. In turn, we the people need to demsonstrate that we too, have the characteristics within to succeed.

As far as people setting high expectations for Obama- we should- as with any President. Him failing to meet those expectations is a whole other story. For him to meet our expectations it is going to take the effort of every citizen. We will have to make our voices heard as to issues and legislations that concern all of us. I think Bush failed because most Americans presumed that he was absolutely capable of running the country all by himself (because of his father) and therefore left the country totally in his hands. Now we realize that for the government to work- it must be by the people- for the people. I believe Obama has inspired Americans to take back that right and become more involved in not just the elections but all the issues to come.

I am very pleased that Obama is our president, I had been rooting for him throughout his whole campaign. But I do believe that people ARE putting him on a VERY high pedistle (sp?), I believe he has it in him to make a change (after all thats why I voted for him), and I believe our trust and hope in him is a great force for him to have, But I do believe people are taking this a little too far. You are setting him and yourselves up with such high expectations, that if he does not meet them completely you will only be disappointed and look upon him as a let down. He is a good change for America, but it will take more than just him to save our nation. It will require all of us, like it required all of us to put him in office. Sacrifice. And I am certain that once it comes to truly making those sacrifices MANY people will look differently upon our new president unfortunately. Change takes time, patience, sacrifice, hope and want. Obama has it in him, but does our nation?
