Michelle Obama looks FABULOUS on the cover of Essence. She is already a beautiful women both inside and out. The make out just increases what is already there. She makes me feel so proud!!!!!

We all are proud to live in this day and time and see an African American President for the first time, take charge of the United States of America. If you for any small reason, think God did not have THE HAND in this, then you don't know God. We have been a nation of people who have been beaten, stolen, mistreated, misrepresented, spat upon, kept in bondage for unhuman reasons. Any being who has the blood of Jesus Christ running through his/her veins, deserve to be treated as equals. Only God with HIS PLAN could see fit now for our Freedom and see others wear the other shoe on their foot, to endure somewhat of the pain experienced in the past. Does not feel too good. One must reap what one sows. Our forefathers set off this Day, lets rejoice and be Glad in it.

I think he is doing a very good job with putting his team together 1 comment mentioned that he had very few blacks on his team I think he is picking the very best which looks good to me for our country. To have a black President says it all we can't just have all the seats black give the man credit where credit is due look at it maybe getting more blacks jobs

I really hate it when people always try to take the credit away from GOD!. GOD had everything to do with Barack Obama being elected. You need to read your history look at the bible. I prayed for this to happen (in addition to voting) and I know many others who did as well.

It was an extraordinary moment to see President Barack Obama elected as President. It gave hope to my grandsons to see that you an be anything you want to be in this life. Yes, the road has been long and rough and many lost their lives for such a moment as this. It took a lot of courage to be at this place in life.

TYPE YOUR MESSAGE HERE I am a faith follower of Essence both on line and by subscription. The article entitled the 25 most inspiring Afrricans was very confusing because only eight of them were shown on line and onlly 19 of them were shown in December issue of Essence. What a shame! If they were all inspiring they all should have been shown in both places, especially in the magazine. After all, everyone may not have access to Essence on line and those left out of the magazine could have easily been shown on just two additional pages.. This omission needs to be corrected, for history's sake.

Well, we all voted for the man and still I've only seen 1 or 2 African Americans on his team. Remember all this was just a historic moment, thats all just a historic moment. Our black men and women will still be at the lowest poll in jobs.

America just received one of the most profound and beautiful gifts in its history...President-Elect Obama! It is time for us (all Americans, Black, White, Asian, Latino & Native American) to accept this gift. Let's begin by ending all crimes against one another. Men and women, let's give one another the respect that we see in the Obama family. Then, let's work with our children so that they will strive for the best grades, conduct and honors educationally. And last but not least, let's work with the current administration to end war, poverty and crime.

Amen to that ,success247 ! I totally agree, and we need to continue to pray for our new President because he will certainly need all the spiritual and moral support he can get. {By the way consider this; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in <1964> and President-Elect Barack Obama is our <44th> President, (+) add the two numbers and they (=) (equals) 2008.} Yes, God does not make any mistakes, it is only the arrogance of man that makes one race think they are superior to another. We are a blessed people, but God does have requirements from all of us. So do what is right, forgive each other when one has wronged you, and understand that the Holy Bible is our road map to salvation. God has blessed, and given us our first African-American President, and we should seek to be the best example of appreciation. Keep the faith!
