Women Share Their Worst Dates
1 of 15 Allison, 31 “On one date, the guy suggested we go for dinner. When the waitress came with the bill, he gave her his credit card and then said to me, ‘It probably won’t work because it’s expired.’ He told me that he had a new card but hadn’t activated it yet. Right. Mind you, I’d already told him that I had just gotten laid off and was living off of unemployment and savings. The only alternative he suggested was to go back to his job ten blocks away and ask his coworkers for some petty cash. When the waitress came back and told us his card had been declined, I was thoroughly embarrassed. I paid for the meal and made that the end of the evening—and the end of us dating.”

Wow, and I thought I had gone on some bad blind dates...my attitude is...there are still some good Black men out there, but you gotta kiss a few frogs before you finally get to that prince! Just like God made Eve for Adam, God has made someone especially for each and every one of us! Let us all stay encouraged and keep up our standards. |

Yeah, sadly to say that these ladies have been dealt a bad rap by some terrible men, but there was only 1 story I read that measured up to my terrible date: The man took me to a homeless shelter for dinner....I'm not kidding either. |

Hey my sistas! All these stories were comical, especially Yamaneika's! Girl, there is NOTHING like ruining a good wig! But seriously, I am with you ladies on this subject. I have had similar experiences, including a man who said "he'd look good in my car" and another who claimed disability because "he made more money than some do in a month". This saddens me, but I have faith God will send the right man to us all. I'm praying for us! In the meantime ladies, don't take no junk from these mama's boys. Don't even let the cuss at you---otherwise, later on, they want to start hitting you! If we reject them, they will stay "sangle" or straighten up! Hang in there! Mo |

For the critics, understand some women don't choose losers but accept them becuase they're hopeful the guy is a prince underneath the orange hair or average looks. Some of us disregarded our values because we have been chastised by well-meaning friends who called us snooty for not wanting to date a broke down brotha. I went out with a no class, low class Kentucy hillbilly because I felt guilty about turning my back on a black man trying to make it. Black guilt hangs heavy. But, the chance I took got me beat up and put my sexual health at risk. I don't care what friends or family say especially the married ones. Ladies never ever compromise your values. Let your friends and family call you stuck up or what have you. No man is worth your dignity or your health. Fortunately, the loser I accepted into my life taught me all I need to know about avoiding trouble. Yes, there are good men out there, but women have to hold true before he comes along. |

I am not shocked about what I had read about these men today. I just don't understand how in the world can men do the things they do and feel like a real, good, decent woman want them anyway. I think men like that is use to project women. Women who don't know any better. I know one thing, I work, go to school, and take care of two kids. I don't have time. Maybe one day God will sent that some one special in my life. I hope that day is real soon. I know that I have plenty of stories to tell about how these men are but I don't have enough room. I know that alot of women have a lot of stories to tell about a man.
